Redwolf

Do I need three to confirm that or will i just go ahead with the ink?

:darklaugh:

I think I might start a new thread anouncing it as well because I was on there awhile ago but I didn't notice. Might as well the site has gone to shite now anyway, it be messy but sure thats what was going to happen. Ther already starting to slip down the ratings.

Condemnation, indeed!

Was there any sort of disclaimer, a Bhríd?

No disclaimer. That would be admitting they might be wrong.

And no "Word of the Day" today. Apparently it's not a daily thing.

It is recommended that you always wait for three to agree on a translation.
I speak Connemara Irish, and my input will often reflect that.
I will do an mp3 file on request for short translations.

Maybe they don't have english, either. They certainly don't seem to understand it very well.

I haven't spent a lot of time on the old forum since finding this one, but this thread summed it up for me:

http://www.irishgaelictranslator.com/tr ... 09217.html

One of the new admins responds to Redwolf's comprehensive post with a dismissive, "They look like a very responsible and responsive company that really wants to know about your experience with them. They "are open". Email or call them," followed by a URL.

The thing that really sets alarm bells ringing, though, is that this person's signature reads, "Warning: I speak no Irish. I am here for the wolves." ?!

:bash:

I hot-footed it back here the minute I saw that. :bolt:

Werepoodle is my husband, darra-joyce (hence the "wolves" comment in his signature). He was being sarcastic (while simultaneously trying to get people to email the company and let them know what you REALLY think).

Sorry, Redwolf.

In my first post here, I said, "I daresay I'll be back soon to make an amadán of myself..."

Didn't take long, did it?!

:/

No worries! A clue, though, is in his post count...he's got 62 or 63, I think. Way more than a new admin would have, unless he'd been posting like crazy.

That's my (well, our) dog's picture as his avatar. :D

Sorry about that. My humor can get a bit dry sometimes.
I posted it in an effort to get as many complaints as possible while keeping the post from being deleted for malicious intent. (Please go ahead and let them know just how very much you have "enjoyed" their handling of the site.)
If you follow back to where I posted my request for danny boy I was too subtle there too. (Although if you consider what Redwolf thinks about Dannyboy, it is my favorite post over there.)

Thank you, Werepoodle, for the contact info. I have just added sending an e-mail to my weekend "to do" list. :D
