You weren't to know that Duolingo sucks (or that Duolingo is one of Redwolf's pet peeves). But now you do.

Other comments about people not noticing if you make mistakes are also a bit of dodgy logic.

Irish is actually experiencing a revival (of which Duolingo and the like are taking advantage) and one of the online Irish community's favourite pastimes is finding token pieces of Irish used by people who don't give a damn and passing the word around. They serve as good examples of what not to do when helping students learn the language.

So while I do think that flared up rather suddenly, please be aware that we do take our language very seriously here and prefer to help people who want to achieve a good result and not be too blasé about it.

Please feel free to ask questions but don't diss the language.
