I was about to order stuff from cic.ie when I saw their Christmas sale starts December 1 and they say "up to 50% off books and music".

So while I'm waiting I thought I'd open a thread where people can put info about getting the cheapest books and music in the coming weeks.

I made a table last month of 29 book+CD sets in 10 online shops:

I've only filled in the price/availability for about half the boxes but it's enough to give an idea of which shops have a broader range or are cheaper.

And the answer is that nobody had any sales except CIC, and for what I was buying, almost nothing was reduced.

Maybe there'll be January sales? Or do any shops have any predictable discount days? (For example, a few old webpages suggest that CIC announced a 17% off everything discount code on Paddy's Day this year. I wonder if they do it every year.)

One thing I will say is that specialty/luxury items like Irish-language books do not go on sale as often as other products. Especially for small retailers like these, it is more work than it is worth to try to arrange a sale and alter a bunch of prices only to sell a half dozen books.
