Ar aon nós mo cheist: the future tense pronunciation. this tense has always confused me I've heard people pronounce it all different ways but in the book "teaching yourself Irish" by Diarmuid Ó Sé he teaches to pronounce it differently depending if it is proceeding a pronoun or not for example:

fidh/faidh are pronounced as "hí' except when proceeding a pronoun where they are pronounced has "ha"

eoidh/óidh are pronounced as "óí' except when proceeding a pronoun where they are pronounced as "ó"

I was wondering what were your opinions on the pronunciation guidelines he gives, are you familiar with them and would you pronounce it yourself? I'm mainly interested in a Connacht dialect (where my Irish speaking ancestors were from)

This distinction is made in Munster and Ulster and Northern Connacht.
In Munster -fidh /hig/ followed by nouns, /hə/ followed by pronouns (-óidh /o:ig/ resp. /o:/)
In Ulster -fidh /hi/ followed by nouns, /hə/ followed by pronouns. (-óidh /ahi/ resp. /ahə/)
In Mayo -fidh /hi/ followed by nouns, /hə/ followed by pronouns. (-óidh /o:j/ resp. /o:/)

Ó Sé's version is probably a Lárchanúint-version similar to Mayo (-fidh /hi/ and /hə/, -óidh /o:i/ and /o:/)

But not so in Southern Connacht,
Here -fidh is pronounced /hə/ (and -óidh pronounced /o:/) regardless of the following subject.

Mo mhíle buíochas don freagra sin. Mayo was the particular Connacht dialect I was looking for anyway so I think I'll stick with Ó Sé's advice for now.
