Hi all!

I've just began my journey on learning gaeilge!

I thought where is best to start that my own surname, McLaughlin.
I've had a look through the internet and seen a few translation but unsure which one it actually is... any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

MacLaughlin is spelt "Mac Lochlainn" in Irish. And it means "son of Lochlann" (Lochlann is a first name and also means Scandinavia in Irish).

MacLaughlin is either an anglicized version of Mac Lochlainn or Ó Maoilsheachlainn.
