Hello to you all, it is truly wonderful to find that a community such as this one, even exists.
I am looking for a little help in finding the Irish translation for some words that are extremely relevant to my current condition in life. they are words that I have been reminding myself of on a daily basis, just to help me through tumultuous times.
The quote reads; 'This too, shall pass"
Perhaps there is even an Irish version of this phrase that is not necessarily an exact translation but yet captures the same message?
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

This has been translated in various ways on the forum. Usually, the differences are in the last word because different dialects use different words for "too". So -

Imeoidh sé seo leis.
Imeoidh sé seo freisin.
Imeoidh sé seo fosta.

This means literally "This will go, too."
I prefer using "freisin" myself.
Somehow, though, I'm not completely satisfied with this translation. Wait for more responses before you decide anything.

If you are planning to get a tattoo, I would wait for further confimation and ideas.

Not being a native speaker, I have all sorts of variations in mind. One I like is:

Caithfidh sé seo freisin.

Another is:

Imeodh sé seo as chomh mhaith.

Yes, I do have a tattoo in mind. My first one and perhaps my only one. I am 51 years of age and have a need for a constant daily reminder to to help me struggle through some personal demons. The message and its meaning would be for me and me alone, hence the Gaelic. Probable placement would likely be inside of wrist or forearm. It is important however that the translation be true in meaning if not necessarily literal. Born and raised in Wicklow but living all my adult life now in America, I have chosen to do this tattoo in Gaelic as a nod to my heritage but also because of the measure of discretion this language offers over here.

These both look good to me. The third one I'm just not familiar with, but that doesn't make it wrong.

Isn't fosta just what they use in Donegal instead of freisin? Either way, I agree that they look good.
