I am looking for the Irish language equivalent of the name "Judith". I have Googled this and found that Síle and Siobhán are traditionally associated with the name Judith though they are not etymologically related. On one website, I found the name Judith translated as "Iúidit" because that name comes from the Hebrew for Judith which is "Yehudit". I know there is an Irish language Bible. I was wondering if anyone having access to that Bible could tell me how the name of Judith is translated in the Irish Bible. Thank you so much for your help.

There's somebody on facebook called Iúidit Muireadhach - her name in English is Judy.

In other words, Lynn, "Iúidit" is correct.

Now, an issue is that Irish Biblical names don't always make it into general usage. But there's no denying it's legitimate.
