I transcribed this inscription from the funerary monument of Dr. William James MacNeven (1763-1841), an exile and accomplished physician, whose monument stands in St. Paul's Chapel Cemetery in lower Manhattan, NYC. I offer a translation below, but I doubt it's right. Might someone have a peak and let me know what you think?

"With this inscribed stone, his countrymen and family offer steadfast commemoration to WILLIAM JAMES MACNEVEN, born in Ireland on March 12, 1763, and died in this city on June 23, 1841"

The rest is easy.

-'Do thagbhadh' > (probably) 'do thóg(bh)adh' = '(this headstone) was erected/raised'

- 'at' > 'ar': 'ag síor-chuimhniughadh ar X' = 'forever remembering/thinking of X' (as Labhrás has already said).

Ah, yes, that makes more sense.
