Couple of suggestions for the second clause

...sula dtiocfadh an cúis os comhair na cúirte.
...before the case would come before the court.

...sula gcuirfear an cúis seo os comhair na cúirte.
...before the case is brought before the court.

I think cúis is used for a legal case rather than cás but wait I wouldn't swear on it.

Just looked it up and it seems you can use either cúis or cás in this context, don't know if one is better than the other though.

Where would you find that MacBoo? There's a few legal terms in the passage I'm translating could do with extra resources!

cúis is cause, not case

I got the two words for case out of one of the dictionaries on line DeB or FGB..

Téarma.ie is ok but some of the stuff is a bit iffy.

Cúis or cás can be used in this context. I thought cúis was more legalese because it also has the meaning cause,
