We have an online group that reads kids' books in Irish, and the latest section brought up a question I couldn't answer. May I ask you for help?

In one story, a monkey is thinking back to his pre-zoo childhood in Africa and thinks of "Zucai agus Tucaí agus Lucaí bocht ... ar bhfeicfeadh sé go deo arís iad?" The person who was translating wrote "Zukey and Tukey and poor Lukey . . . ," but then someone asked how you would say "Poor Zukey and Tukey and Lukey," and I didn't know for sure. "Zucai agus Tucaí agus Lucaí bochta"?

I'd say "bochta" since it refers to the 3 characters (I guess).
Btw it should be "an bhfeicfeadh" and not "ar bhfeicfeadh".

Go raibh maith agat--and you're right: it's "an bhfeicfeadh" in the original. The guy who translated it copied it wrong, and I didn't catch it.

Would bocht after each name not be the way

Lucaí bocht agus Tukaí bocht agus Zukaí bocht?

I seem to remember something about the construction 'a poor man and woman' would translate into Irish as 'fear bocht agus bean bhocht', with repetition of the adjective. Or would 'fear agus bean bhochta' also be acceptable??
But there it might be for a different reason. Or I picked it up wrong, (more likely).

looks strange but "fear bocht agus bean bhocht" looks heavy...
