There's a book of children's rhymes that I've asked some friends of mine to buy for me, as they're going to the Isle of Skye and then up to Inverness next week. With a bit of luck they might find it at Carmina Gadelica in Portree or at Leakey's in Inverness. The title is: 'Air do Bhonnagan, a Ghaoil - Rannan chloinne agus chàich' compiled by Tormod Caimbeul. The only word I don't understand is 'càich'.
The other books I'm hoping to get are 'An t-Each' by Malachy Doyle, 'An Croitear' by Martin Waddell and 'Caileag' by Kim Lewis, all published by Acair. Apparently the Katie Morag books are no longer available in Gaelic unfortunately.

The word càch means "others/other people", so in your phrase I assume that agus chàich means "and of [others/other people]".

This is what it looks like -

Unfortunately they didn't have time to go into either of the shops that I mentioned - they were too busy climbing and walking as they had a whole week of fine weather. I'm hoping my son can order them from a bookshop in Edinburgh.
