Could someone please translate the following phrases for me? They may possibly be tattoo's in the future, but not immediately.

"Moon of my life"

Do you want these to be worded as if you were speaking to someone, using these terms as endearments? Or are you using them as endearments, but more as if you were speaking about the person rather than to him/her? It will matter somewhat to the translation.

For beginners, both of these are very good. Both are books with accompanying CDs. "Enjoy Irish" also offers a downloadable app with some of the conversations on it. Gaeilge Gan Stró can be used on its own or in conjunction with the on-line classes at Gaelchultúr.ie, and is quite a bit more comprehensive:

If you are using these to address the person directly, I'd add the vocative particle as Redwolf did in her's:

A ghealach mo shaoil

A ghrian agus a réalta

And just to clarify, standard (CO) is réalta "star" (sg) and réaltaí "stars" (pl). Connemara is réalt "star" (sg) and réalta(í) "stars" (pl).

Grma! That has cleared up a disagreement in our house for ages. It never occurred to me (even though it should have) that dialect explained the discrepancy between spellings. (Will I EVER learn that dialect explains almost everything! )
