Tá mé ag léamh an scéil "Tnúthán an Dúchais" (as "Braon Broghach") le Máirtín Ó Cadhain faoi láthair.

Ach ní thuigim cad is brí leis an aidiacht "aranta" san abairt:
Quote:
Níorbh aranta luiteamas an ghliomaigh lena áfach ná luiteamas Choilm leis an tinteán.

"The attachment of the lobster to its hole is not ...er than the attachment of Colm to the fire-place."

Being more "ill-humoured" doesn’t make much sense in this context. I'd expect "stronger".
