Hi everyone,

I created this topic for people interested in the Ossory dialect, for people to discuss and share information and resources on the dialect.

I am currently compiling as much as I can on this dialect. The sources I have are the following:

- Labhrann Laighnigh, Dáithí Ó hÓgain.
Information on many of the now extinct sub-dialects of Leinster, including different parts of Ossory.

- Linguistic Atlas and Survey of Irish Dialects, Vol I, Heinrich Wagner.
Comparison of words and short sentences from practically all of the still living dialects and sub-dialects as of the time of the book's writing, with two point (areas) in Kilkenny.

- Linguistic Atlas and Survey of Irish Dialects, Vol II, Heinrich Wagner.
Comparison of a list of words and sentences from practically all of the still living sub-dialects of Munster as of the time of the book's writing, as well as two points (areas) of Ossory, one in South Kilkenny, and another in North Kilkenny.

(I own all three of these books)

- Gaedhilg Chonndae Chill Choinnigh, Risteárd Breathnach.
An unfinished thesis held in University College Dublin on the Irish of Kilkenny. This is currently unavailable.

(I have had access to this thesis and have taken photos of all the pages. I am currently typing the whole thing out, text recognition isn't very helpful as the thesis is very old and in a very bad state. By October/Novermber I should have a raw copy (where I keep it as it is, including spelling and typographical errors), a polished copy as well as a version translated into English (the original being fully in Irish), I will post again on this topic whenever this is done of if anyone is interested in updates.)

- Kilkennt Irish Blogspot
https://gaeiligchillechoinnigh.blogspot.com/?m=1
https://kilkennyirish.blogspot.com/
A website with some info on Kilkenny Irish.

- Curses in a Dead Dialect of Leinster Irish (Gaelic) - Queen's County / County Laois~Laoighis, AnLoingseach.
https://youtu.be/ewSfnjPlgto?si=kJh56YaNO_kdMc-S
A video on texts in Laois Irish by AnLoingseach, who makes very informative videos on Irish, in my opinion, he might have the best content on Irish on YouTube. If you don't know him I urge you to check his channel out.

That's all I have so far, if there is anything else I will post again or edit new sources into this comment. I'm planning on compiling all of this information in order to create a project where one will be able to find all the information available on the Ossory dialect easily.

Go roibh maith agaibh.
