 Dia Dhaoibh!

An bhfuil duine ar bith familiar leis an leabhar/CD Peigin Leitir Moir (nó any of the rhymes on it)? Agus, if so, I've been wondering what this means:

Hóra, hóra, hóra, a Pheadair. What's a Hóra??? 8O lol

And if anyone knows the words to na rannta Fuarasín, Farasín agus/nó Ríl- The Collier's

"Hóra" is just nonsense syllables...a common feature in both Irish and Scottish music.

I don't know the CD, but "Peigín Leitir Móir" is a well-known song.

"Ríl" means "reel." "Collier's Reel" is a well-known dance tune...it wouldn't have words to it.

Go raibh maith agat. I knew the words to the rhymes were long shots, and I did know that Ril meant reel (But not what a Reel was!), but I figured I'd try; You never know, right?. At least I've solved "Hóra". :)

Ah...reels are the heart and soul of Irish dance tunes! Usually written in common time but played in cut time (you can tell it's a reel if the rhythm is "watermelon, watermelon")

Couple of my favorite reels here:

Silver Spear/Maid Behind the Bar/Mountain Road

Here's Collier's:
