I am new to this forum & am asking for help in translating the following:

"Dad & Michael,
Here in my heart until our forever."

From what I've found on the internet, I am told the Irish version is the following:

"Daid agus Michael,
Anseo i mo chroí go dtí ár go deo."

Can anyone confirm? I want this tattooed on my arm & obviously want the correct translation :)

Thanks!!!
Eileen

Your current translation isn't right.

So, if you want informal "Dad", it would be

A Dhaid, not just Daid. This is because youre addressing him.

"A Dhaid agus a Michael" or if you want to Irishise the name Michael "A Dhaid agus a Mhícheáil"

"Táibh annso am' chroidhe go deó"(you are here in my heart forever).

"our forever"(our) doesnt translate well into Irish. You can also say "'sa t-síorraidheacht" (in the eternity) instead of go deó. or de shíor

The translation I have given you is traditional Irish.

If you really want modern standard Irish, it would be "A Dhaid agus a Mhícheáil, tá sibh anseo i mo chroí go deo." or "tá sibh anseo i mo chroí sa tsíoraíocht"

If I use:

A Dhaid agus a Mhícheáil, tá sibh anseo i mo chroí sa tsíoraíocht

Do I capitalize the "t" in "tá"?

And can you recommend a nice font?

You can choose. Just like English capitlisiation.

Dad and Michael, you (or You) are here in my heart forever.

A good font would be the traditional Irish font. Example:
A Ḋaid agus a Ṁíċeáil, tá siḃ annseo i mo ċroí sa tsíoraíoċt

The dots above the letters are what used to replace the "h" we have today.

It would be unusual in English or Irish to capitalise it, as it's the beginning of a new clause but not the beginning of a new sentence.

You can choose to capitalise it, but that would be taking some artistic liberty.

Vocative of Mícheál is usually a Mhíchíl (a Ṁíċíl)
