Hi, in Labharfad le Cách, Peig Sayers says:
Quote:
Nín siad ábalta ar gharraí prátaí rómhar ná a bhaint anois, an chuid is mó acu, agus ansan an ceathrar nó cúigear do thrasfhearaibh óga atá ann, níd siad ábalta naomhóg ná fearas a dheibriú ó ché Dhúin Chaoin amach.

I've tried to show what she actually said (nín, níd, dh'oibriú with a slender dh). The thing I don't get is "thrasfhearaibh". The book translates it as "young men". Does anyone understand thrasfhearaibh?

I see. Maybe it's the men who go over on the boat to Dunquin from the Blasket Islands.
