My best friend and I are getting tattoos for each other. Hers will read "No matter where" in Cherokee since she is of cherokee ancestry, and mine will read "No matter what" in Irish, hopefully! I am very new to gaelic and am hoping for help on translating this.

Is cuma cad a tharlóidh (Munster, Standard)
Is cuma cad a tharlóchas (Ulster)

lit.: is equal what that will-happen

Well, the title said "no matter what", but post #1 said "no matter where" = is cuma cá háit/cathain/cad é an áit, etc.

Less literally, this says what you want: "No matter what [happens/will happen]"

what about translating this as simply "pé rud a thárlóidh"?

That works, too, and is pithier.
