For some fun, I was trying to see what the Jungian pyschological term Individuate would be for Individuation. Alas, I could only find the verb Indibhidigh. Someone suggested the verbal noun, although "Tá mé ag indibhidiú - I am individuating" is a bit weird.

So what would the equivalent Gaeilge word be for Individuation? Is there a general rule for transforming verbs into nouns, particularly for loan words from other languages?

Thanks

I don’t understand your sentence: "... term Individuate would be for Individuation..." :??:

individuate = indibhidigh
I individuate = indibhidím
he indivituates = indibhidíonn sé
indivituation = indibhidiú
the individuation = an t-indibhidiú

see: https://www.tearma.ie/q/individuation/

Second conjugation verbs in -igh almost always have a verbal noun in -
and such verbs in -aigh a verbal noun in -ú.

daonlathaigh (democratise/-ize) - daonlathú (democratisation/-ization), etc.

This has gone way off topic. A person asked for a translation and got it. Any other discussion outside of that needs to be taken elsewhere. This thread is closed.
