Hello, everyone,

This is a transcription request, not a translation request.

I am creating subtitles for a TV commercial which I use in a class for English learners. There are four short lines during the commercial which are in Irish. I would like to be able to display them correctly, in Irish, in the subtitles.

The commercial is "Sinead's hand" by Marriage Equality Ireland, from 2013. The URL is here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ganRbr-WBiI
The Irish dialogue part is from 0:45~0:56.

Just to reiterate, this is a transcription request. I understand what they are saying but I would just like to be able to have accurate subtitles that would show the Irish language lines as they are in the clip.

Man 1: _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Man 2: _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Man 1: _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Man 2: Brilliant! _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Thank you very much in advance for your help!

Germain

Man 1: Conas tá tú?
Man 2: Go maith. An bhfuil cead agam Sinéad a ... phósadh?
Man 1: Tá.
Man 2: Brilliant! Go raibh maith agat.

I want to ask about this diphthongal pronunciation of pósadh like /pousa/.

Listening to https://www.teanglann.ie/ga/fuaim/p%c3%b3sadh the Munster version is not a diphthong there, pósa, the Ulster one is not a diphthong, pósú, but maybe the Connacht one is partly diphthongised. Does Connacht have a diphthong here or is this English influence?

"Pósadh" in Conamara -

There isn't a diphthong, but the fada makes the vowel long. - Po_sa.
