Hello,
My great grandmother used to tell us stories of when she was younger in Ireland. I am having health issues and would love to have a tattoo of "I am strong" as a reminder that I am indeed strong and to also honor my grandma Hazel. I am reaching out because I would like a tattoo that is a genuine Irish phrase with the correct spelling.

Thank you,
Sherie

Hi Sherie,

A very direct translation:

Tá mé láidir. Táim láidir. ("Tá mé" and "Táim" mean the same thing, just different usage mostly depending on dialect.)

Some other choices/possibilities: (I guess because I feel you can express something colorfully in Irish.)

Is duine láidir mé. I am a strong person. Is bean láidir mé. I am a strong woman. Is cailín láidir mé. I'm a strong girl.

Táim (Tá mé) níos láidre ná mar a cheapfá. I am stronger than you think.

Táim chomh láidir le capall. I am as strong as a horse.

Look at this page and you can see what I mean. So many interesting translations for "strong".

Wait for more ideas and corrections.
Good luck,
Tim
