Hello all,

I believe "I Am The River" could be rendered "Is mise an abhainn" -- could this be rendered poetically by dropping the is & an and just saying "Mise abhainn?"

Secondly, how to express the participle in Irish? Am I correct in believing that participles are not used as adjectives in Irish? I have tried my best with dictionaries to figure out what the best translation of "flowing" would be but have had little luck figuring out which version of the adjective would apply in this way to the perpetual motion of a river. If there's a different adjective more frequently used to describe rivers (more akin to "running" or "coursing" or "rolling" in English) I would be open to that as well.

My family is from Inis Oirr and Galway City (came to America during the 1920's) so I would prefer Gaelige Chonnact but I am open to Standard or Old Irish as well. Thanks in advance!

I don't think you can drop the article: mise an abhainn

flowing - IED: snítheach, ina shruth, FGB: snítheach, sruthach, sreabhach etc.

Thank you! I was hesitant with snítheach because I had also seen it translated as "weeping" or "oozing" and I didn't want a tattoo that said "I am the oozing river."
