When I ask for permission to do something, how would I need to interpret the following reply:

Is this an ok?

Gwan in Irish English = "Go on" (aka Go ahead). It's an okay

Keep in mind though, this forum is for questions about the Irish language. Any Irish person would really be able to answer the above question :LOL:

It's how we pronounce "go on so" in Ireland, but usually written correctly.

BUT if somebody tells you "I will yeah" that means "no". :rofl:

That reminds me of that time when we went to a restaurant in Ireland. The waiter asked if I was alright, to which I replied - No we haven't been served yet.
