Hi there!

I am attempting to get a toast translated into Irish for a tattoo. Any help that I could get would be greatly appreciated!

My apologies for the length:

"Here's to fighting, stealing and drinking.
If you fight, may you fight for a friend.
If you steal, may you steal a lover's heart.
And if you drink, may you drink with us."

Thanks, once again for the consideration.

I don't know exactly how to translate here's to (something).
B'fhéidir "faoi thuairim" works.
So:

Faoi thuairim na troda agus na gada agus an óil.
Má throideann tú, go dtroide tú ar son carad
Má ghoideann tú, go ngoide tú croí leannáin
Agus má ólann tú, go n-óla tú linne.

Absolutely. I have too many friends that have kanji/katakana on their bodies that don't mean what they wanted them to mean.

I just really appreciate the efforts of the group, you included. :)

Yeah, like the guy who had 力家 tattooed on his bicep; he meant "powerhouse". Absolutely ridiculous.

:good:

"Faoi thuairim" seems right to me. Other offerings are too specific to health, or drinking.

Absolutely. Planning on getting the tattoo in October. I've got time if others are willing to take a look at it. 8-)
