Hi All,
I've just started my journey of learning Irish, and I would like to get an Irish module added to LingQ (
www.lingQ.com - I believe it is one of the most productive, science-based ways to acquire proficiency in a language). To get them to add a new language, I have to get 40 of their mini-stories (each one is only 250-500 words) translated and recorded into Irish. I estimate that each mini-story would take 2-5 minutes to read out loud.
I was hoping there might be a few native speakers on this forum who would be willing to translate the material and record themselves speaking it. You would get credit on the website for your contribution. I could help by doing a rough Google translation and giving you the text/translation in the most convenient format possible. I can also help with the recording side of things and/or set up a Skype session for you to just speak and I'll record. Whatever can make this work!
I've contacted a few of the Irish government organizations and they seem interested, but, perhaps because it's the summer, I've not heard any more from them.
And to clarify: I don't work for LingQ (in fact I happily pay a monthly subscription, although you can use the basic features on their site for free) and wouldn't get anything financially out of this endeavour, except a great start to learning my mother tongue!
If you're not a native speaker, but know one, could you pass this message on. I'm happy to give out my email/phone info if that's easier.
