Hi Everyone,

This is my first time posting here.

I'm trying to translate the phrase "Is áil liom".

I've seen translations saying: like, wish, pleasure, desire and want.

Seeing as there are so many inconsistencies, I was hoping to get this nailed down once and for all

Secondly, assuming it ends up translating to "I like/love", What would differentiate it's usage from phrases such as:
- Is maith liom
- Is brea liom
- Is aoibhinn liom
- Is ionúin liom

Many thanks in advance!

Áil means desire, so - Is áil liom - means I desire or I want. (as you can see on Teanglann.ie)

The other examples you give mean, to various degrees of intensity, - I like it, I like it a lot etc/srl
