The building in the picture looks like it hasn't be renovated since Irish was spoken throughout Ireland!
It is a funny old building. No windows (the ones at the top that look like stained glass from outside are just facades). There are parts of the building you have to go outside to get to, including one of the big meeting halls. Inside, some parts are definitely OTT (Shamrock and harp tiles on the floor of the ladies' room! And a really creepy Garda statue in the library!) and some are nice (Lovely pub, with decent Guinness!) Some people love it, some can't stand it, but it's definitely interesting! I'll never forget the first time I saw it, when I was in college and doing a month's study tour in San Francisco...I thought it was some kind of Irish secret society a la the Masons!
