Dia dhaoibh ar maidin

I have encountered both of these and am wondering which is right:

'It's a dollar a pound'
tá sé dollar an punt
tá sé dollar an phuint

The first one as Labhrás has indicated. Are you comparing currencies? If so, the first thing that comes to my head is "dollar amháin in aghaidh an phuint" (genitive would be used this time). Otherwise the first one you have is good :)

I am talking about a dollar for a pound of some random purchasable

The first one is what I had thought was right but another had counseled me to use the latter...

Thank you!

My suggestion still works in that case (and is in my opinion nicer Irish :P) but yeah, the first of your suggestions is the correct one :)
