Hi everyone,

I would like to get a tattoo in Gaelic and I'm looking for people who can help
me translate.

I would either like:

A mother's love never forgets
I did found a translation, but I don't think it's correct: A máthar grá déan dearmad riamh.
I also found a translation for: A mother's love should be: Grá máthar/ máhair ?? Very confusing!!

Or this one I like also:

Too Beautiful for Earth
translation could be: ró-álainn do chré, but absolutely don't know if this is correct.

Can someone please help?
Thank you so much.

Welcome! It is always so nice when people consult the forum about tattoos -- I myself have seen what can happen when a person doesn't...

It is confusing, yes. The same way that in English we indicate possession by adding 's to the end, in Irish a different change is made -- removing the i before the last letter in this case.

I do not have excellent Irish by any means, but here is my suggestion (obviously wait for others' input!)

Ní dhéanfaidh grá máthar dearmad go deo. "A mother's love will never forget"
or
Ní dhéanann grá máthar dearmad riamh. "A mother's love never forgets"

This one probably depends on what you mean --
Do you mean too beautiful for the earth as in for the planet earth? For the whole world?
Or too beautiful for the earth as in too beautiful to walk on the ground? Too beautiful to be in contact with the dirt? Too beautiful for agriculture? Too beautiful to die (and be lain in the earth)?

My guess is for the Earth as in for this planet/world and so my suggestion is:

Róbhreá don Domhan
