As I wrote in my presentation I'm just back from one of many travels to Irelan. I just love, this country, can't stop going there.
This time I finally chose part of my new tattoo, which is the famous Beckett quotation "ever tried, ever failed. No matter. Try again, fail again, fail better".
I've looked everywhere for an irish version of Worstward Ho, but either it doesn't exist or I didn't find... either way, I would like to translate this famous quotation in irish.
I tought about modern irish since Beckett was born in XX° century, but here is another question... since I would like to write that with Ogham alphabet (which usually worked along with old irish) wich version do you think I should use? I'm still for modern one, but I'm into your hands, soooo...
Aaaaaanyway, if you could devide the frase as following I would be really grateful to you all.

What do you mean exactly with "background context"? In the novel Samuel Beckett deals with the absurd, continuous fight against intertia. It's a parody of life, an allegory of the word itself, shown as the worst possible but for that very reason stilll "worsenable" (does this world even exist?). This ridiculousness makes this a stubborn and continuous research of something unknown intangible and unreachable. Like in King Lear "And worse I may be yet: the worst is not, So long as we can say, This is the worst"... It's a prose actually, there is really no plot so I cant actually "make" a context...
It should sound like something a warrior would say... well, maybe a literate, hipster one! lol

Don't think this quite works but I will throw it out there:

Síor-thriail síor-theip for "Ever tried, ever failed" but it is more like "constantly try, constantly fail".

Some proverbs in the same vein:
