I have been VERY slow at writing a novel.

More than a year ago I found a Gaelic word that I used for the name of a character. To help my American English readers, and since other character would only be hearing the name, not seeing it spelled out, I wrote the name as a phonetic version of it. "Chower." Unfortunately, I have lost the original word, and I can;t seem to find my research on it.

So, as I mentioned before, I wrote it as "Chower" Chow - er

Would anyone happen to be able to figure from that what word I used?

I'm not sure if context would help, because i still might have chosen the word out of context. The name is for a cat that is a familiar to a witch (good witch!). The cat is a pixie-bob, very intelligent and loving. So I am thinking, intelligent , familiar, family, love, cat, feline? I'm just not sure.

I'm also not sure what branch language I used, though I try to find old Gaelic as a general trend.
