Tá mé réidh ach buartha le rá é.
Cheap mé sé an-deacair dom, le mo ag folghaim Gaeilge.
Airím bhfostú. Ba mhaith liom...practice.
Cosúil airím tá mé ag lorg i gcónaí chun...a dictionary.
Tá mé bhfostú anseo...mo ag folghaim níl níos mó.

Does anyone else have this problem? I am the only one here trying to learn Gaeilge, and it does get frustrating quickly. I feel there is no progress.
I try to write without a dictionary, to see what I have learned and held onto...ach tá mé cinnte atá an-mícheart.

I am currently trying to write a children's story as gaeilge, and maybe try to write a couple of short stories for adults aswell, to help me learn but also I think it might help others or at least make others happy to see more and more writers of gaeilge.
Níl 'fhios 'am...maybe that is just wishful thinking.

You can't learn any language by picking out words in a dictionary and putting them together. Don't use Google Translate either.

You have to learn the syntax of Irish first.

Here's a suggestion. If you're interested in books written in Irish for children - if you look at the O'Brien Press.ie website, there's the series of paperbacks called Sraith Sos and most of them are also published in English. They're not too expensive, so you can put one next to the other and then you can see how the language functions without having to look up the words in the dictionary all the time.
