Hi there, I wonder if anyone can help me please. I want to have a tattoo in Irish to represent the time I lived in Ireland. I would like to have the following translated into Irish if possible:
" CHANCE OR CHOICE" as it represents the things you do in life, sometimes by choice and sometimes by chance and in turn one can lead to the other. I had a look at some translation sites and it came up with "SEANS NÓ ROGHA. I still have friends in Ireland who did Irish in school and from what they can remember (SEANS) means chances and (DEIS) actually means chance, in which case it would be " DEIS NÓ ROGHA. I was also given "SEANS NÓ ROGHANNA" which is chances or choices.

I spoke to someone I know who has family in Ireland and got the following translation "ROGHA NÍ FAILL"
As you can imagine I am somewhat confused and want to make sure that I have it totally correct before it is etched onto my skin for life.
I would really appreciate any help that you can give me to get the translation correct.

That would be my choice too.



"Seans" is singular. You don't make plurals in Irish by adding an S.
"Deis" means opportunity.


"Faill" can mean "chance" too. But "ní" means "not". Choice not Chance.
