Don't know if anyone has suggested this before, but would there be any interest in a Christmas meet-up for forum members? I know it wouldn't be practical to get everyone together from different countries, but there are enough of us based in Ireland to make a good night of it or even just a few hours in the daytime somewhere.

I would think a few might be interested in meeting up, but it would obviously depend on location. I'm not really sure where most people are based. Dublin would probably suit me best, but depending on when it was, I could possibly make it to the west.

Since I posted this, my own plans have changed and I won't be in Ireland myself for most of December. It will have to be November or January for me, or else it will have to go ahead without me.

Apart from yourself Saoirse, only one other person responded to this (in private message) so there may not be enough interest in it. Or maybe we would get a few more if we had a definite date and location, I don't really know.

Location is not an issue for me. I'm in Kilkenny, but can get to any part of Ireland without too much trouble. Dublin is fairly accessible to most people by motorway or public transport. Maybe a traditional Gaeltacht area would be more appropriate, but then again a lot of those places are awkward to get to from certain parts of the country.

Presumably Conamara is the most central of the three main Gaeltachtaí. Another option is to find out if anyone is heading to Oireachtas na Gaeilge in City West and have an arrangement to meet there. Saoirse.
