‘Progress/go ahead/go on’ rather than ‘go along’ is how it would come across to me. However I’m no native speaker and a native speaker might well say your version is grand.
I would say ‘Bí ag glanadh romhat’. Have a look at ‘roimh 2(a)’ in FGB.
