The English is 'One of them started to offer for the fish, but the price he offered was less than our expectations'. I'm having trouble wrapping my head around this
ar mar bit. My understanding is 'his offer was little an addition to what we thought (expected)', but
breis there seams like it would have to have a different meaning from something MORE as is implied in dictionary definitions, as in this senario the offer was LESS than what was expected. Can someone please explain this phrase, any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
