There is another version of this game which works the other way around. viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1931

In this game we take a phrase in English with a colour in the Irish translation and people have to guess the Irish phrase. The person who guesses correctly can come up with a new one or someone else will row in.

e.g. 'fed up' = 'dubh dóite'

Here's one to start. 'really lucky' as in 'I was really lucky.' Remember the Irish phrase must have a colour in it.

I've trawled focloir.ie to find one I didn't know and here's my offering:

'madly in love' as in: 'He's madly in love with Saoirse' (Who wouldn't be!)

... imithe bán i ndiaidh duine

Sure that's an obvious one! (if you give away the source!!!)

Here's another:

'A wild night; night of fierce brawling'.
