For those who have PC's (as opposed to Mac's) and want to type accent marks and other diacritical marks, this link will take you to a list of ASCII (and other) codes you can use to type them (arranged by languages in which I happen to use them, so there are some repetitions):

GRMA to Breandán for setting up the pdf for me. I think the pdf failed to read a few of them correctly, but you can see what was meant to be there by using the code involved.

Actually, Caoimhín, they weren't in the original doc file either when I viewed it on my computer. I think you are using a non-standard font there - WP Math A. It doesn't show up on the examples at the WP Math A download website either. Apparently, a special plugin is required to view WP fonts. :?:

Strange about those characters, a Bhreandáin. I didn't consciously select fonts when setting up that chart. I just input the codes and I assumed that the codes would call up the character in whatever font one was using, but I guess some fonts just won't support them. In any case, the missing ones are not accent marks, but math characters. I just have them on the chart because they are ones I use from time to time.

I do remember, though, that when I got a new computer after creating that chart a few years back one of the characters would no longer print. I'm pretty computer savvy, but only in terms of using computers, not in terms of explaining the innards of the hardware or software.

Sometimes these special fonts get installed as a bundle with some useful software you may have purchased - in my case a dictionary software program for instance may install its phonetics fonts (in your case something mathematical or science related perhaps?). Unfortunately, the fonts aren't always available to the general public.

I have to watch that with my clients - I can't use a symbol in my translations unless I know it will be available to my Japanese clients _and_ their American or European clients. (And I have to be careful that my Mac fonts will map properly to their PC equivalents.)
