hi i am a tattoo artist and have a number of clients who want irish phrases to go with their tattoo and so i have made a couple of requests for translation and have found the forum helpful in this regard and have passed this information on for the consideration of the people involved. i now have someone who wants the words born to lose translated into irish to be applied to a large full back tattoo and would appreciate some idea of the correct translation. regards ken

Strange tattoo ideas some people have

Rugadh le cailleadh (mé) = (I was) born to lose

But cailleadh means figuratively also die, so this can as well be translated "Born to die".

Would these work here ? De shíol cailliúnaí - or Bhí cailliúnaí as broinn mé ?

If not sure if this would work. Wait for corrections and three to agree anyhow.
