Hello!! I need some help with a translation for a Tattoo in honor of my late father. I have been researching my family ancestors on my fathers side for the past 6 months, the first man to come to the US was from Scottland and his wife from Ireland. So I want to use one of those dialects to honor my heritage.

The phrase I need translated is:

Hope shines in darkness

This a lyric from a song I co-wrote and produced while my dad was ill and means a great deal to me. But if it should be phrased differently to fit the language I'm open to suggestions. Any help would be greatly appreciated as the online translators are a joke!!
