Some new expressions I've learned (Cork and Kerry), if anybody finds them interesting:

We all know:
Is é an dochtúir é = He is the Doctor

However I've learned that you can emphasise Doctor to get:

an dochtúir is é é = He is the Doctor

Although this isn't really that common, most commonly used
for saying somebody is a relation (I was told):

Is é mac Sheáin é = He is Seán's son

mac Sheáin is é é = He is Seán's son

I learned it from the sentence:

clann Áine is iad iad = They are Áine's children

In Munster you usually say:
Dochtúir is ea é = He is a doctor

Instead of the usual "Is Dochtúir é", however the normal construction is used in most sentences that aren't
just a straight forward declaration:

Dúirt siad gur Dochtúir é = They said he is a doctor

However you can still stick the "is ea" form in for emphasis to give:

Dúirt siad gur Dochtúir gurb ea é = They said he is a doctor

Of course you can emphasise "they said" instead:
Dúirt siadsan gur Dochtúir é = They said he is a doctor

Apparently this can also be done with "Is é", hopefully somebody can tell me
if I'm missing something here:
Is é Dúirt siad gur Dochtúir é = They said he is a doctor

Leading to the double emphasis sentence that heard which lead me to finding this out:

Is é Dúirt siad gur Dochtúir gurb ea é = They said he is a doctor

AFAIK Is é dúirt siad isn't emphasising "they" but "[they] said" = 'they said he's-/'What they said was he's-'

Ah, brilliant thanks! :D

So,

Is é Dúirt siad gur Dochtúir é = They said he is a doctor.

Is é Dúirt siad gur Dochtúir gurb ea é = They said he is a doctor
