I think Ba mhaith liom ~ "I'd like ~" is the best here.

It's probably best not to try to translate the "Can I", directly. It's a very English idiom.

I think Bríd mentioned somewhere that le do thoil is also a fairly new concept in Irish. The politeness used to be in the use of the conditional ("could you ~" or "would you ~"), and a blessing by way of thanks after the favour was done. But things are changing and people are adopting "English manners".

Another option might be An dtabharfá ~ dom/dhom/domh "Would you (please) give me ~".

Lughaidh can give you better suggestions for Ulster specific expressions, I am sure ...

Those suggestions are what I would have suggested too.

In Ulster I think people would say:

Ba mhaith liom ceapaire

An dtabharfá ceapaire domh?

An dtig leat ceapaire a thabhairt domh?

An dtiocfadh leat ceapaire a thabhairt domh?

you can add "le do thoil" at the end.

Daibhéad, just to add to what you've been given above:

An dtig/dtiocfadh liom ceapaire a fháil - Can/could I get (= have) a sandwich? (In Ulster the féidir version would be used less often).

And of course, while children may be taught Ba mhaith liom, the little brats'...er, darlings'..default version is Tá mé ag iarraidh (= I want).

As far as I know, the 'an féidir leat' version is 'can' in the sense of having the ability to do something. Saying it in English as 'may I have' gives a more accurate version in Irish. That's why I would avoid the 'an féidir leat' option in this context. Note that I began this with 'as far as I know'...... and sometimes that's not very far at all!
