Hi, I know you all are probably really sick of translating tattoos for people so I sincerely apologize for this!
Tomorrow is my 18th birthday, and my mother is taking me to get a tattoo (it's kind of a right of passage in our family)
I wanted to do something meaningful that also connects with my Irish or Scottish Heritage and since this will probably be the only tattoo I ever get, I want to make sure it's spelled right with correct grammer and what not! I posted this in the Irish translation section, but I also wanted to see what the Scottish translations look like.

I have a few ideas and if you could please translate these for me, I'd really appreciate it!

Seize Life - I looked this up and found "saol amháin, tapaigh é" for an Irish translation but i'm not sure if that's right and I couldn't find a Scottish one.

and the other one is:

Life Goes On

I responded to your posts on the IGTF site as well. I didn't notice there that you were looking for Scottish Gaelic versions, but you could use these:

Aon bheatha a-mhàin; gabh grèim air
Only one life; seize/grasp it

Cùmaidh an bheatha
or
Mairidh an bheatha
Life will go on/continue/endure

Both of the last two choices have about the same meaning, but the first is more in the sense of "continue" and the second in the sense of "endure", although they are interchangeable in many contexts. I think your meaning would come through with either of them equally well.

Note that accents in Scottish Gaelic flow in the opposite direction to those used in Irish.

Thanks for all your help! I'm looking for it in both Irish and Scottish, I'm Irish on my Mom's side, and Scottish on my Dad's so I'd like to find it in both languages and compare to see which one comes closest to what I'm trying to say. So if I'm understanding this correctly:

In Scottish Gaelic:

and

or
Mairidh an bheatha
- life goes on

and in Irish Gaelic:
Beatha amháin; tapaigh é - only one life; seize it
Leanann an saol ar aghaidh - life goes on

Of course I'll wait for confirmation for these!
