This is probably the most learner-friendly book, and is quite humurous.
The book is broken up into very short chapters.
It is also the book currently used for the Leaving Certificate (honours-level Irish); so, there's a ton of helpful learning resources out there, including a dictionary/ synopsis book written in simpler Irish, and I think there's also a translation available.
