Does the word for 'wolf' mac tíre literally translate as "son of the land"??

So 'a son of the land' ie not a wolf but a human being, would be - mac na tíre, is that right ?

Mais non!

'Mac na tíre' = 'the son of the land'; 'a son of the land' = 'mac de chuid na tíre'.

(Assuming 'tír' is the appropriate word).
