Enya has a song whose title is "Smaointe". What does this title mean? What is the translation?

Poetic license, perhaps. Songs and poetry are often not particularly correct grammatically (whatever the language)

In this case I don't think one can talk about poetic license. And poetic license is rather about word order or words themselves (old-fashioned compound words, for instance, in the case of Irish).

I don't know if the mistakes were made by Enya herself, or by the person who typed the lyrics on the cd booklet, or by the person who copied them on the web... Usually in the booklets of Clannad's CDs, there are loads of typos but not grammatical mistakes, as far as I can remember.

My attempt:

First stanza:

Éist le mo chroí, go brónach a choích
Listen to my heart, forever sad

brónach (go is superfluous. He shouldn't listen sorrowfully but the heart is sorrowfull)

Tá mé cailte gan tú 's do bhean chéile
I am lost without you and your wife

caillte (caill with double l)
gan tusa (because agus ... follows)

An grá mór i do shaoil threoraí sí me
The great love in your lives will guide me

in bhur saoil (plural "lives", i.e. bhur = tú + his wife)
sé (grá is masculine and AFAIK doesn't belong to those masculine nouns referred to by feminine pronouns)
treoróidh sé mé = he will guide me (no lenition of treoróidh in future, it's not a relative clause because of "sí" resp. correctly "sé" in the Irish version),

Bígí liomsa i gconaí, lá 's oích
Be with me always, day and night

"threoraí" doesn't make sense, it can't be a future tense form, and there's a séimhiú for no reason. The verb is treoraigh and its future is treoróidh (treoróchaidh in Donegal Irish, if this verb exists in the dialect)
