I was interested in getting a tattoo with a motto that spoke to me. I really enjoy studying Gaelic, and I was wondering if it was possible to get the word 'Rise' translated into the tongue of Erin, in the proper way (as I am still learning). I'm not sure about the form of the word, possibly a verb form for 'Rise up' or 'to rise'. At any rate, thankyou very much in advance for your help! Awesome site, by the way.

I suggest - Éirigh - please note that this is the singular imperative, ie you're asking only one person to rise up, if you want it in the plural, it's - Éirígí and please don't forget to put the accents or fadas.
But wait for confirmation as I am only a lonely beginner.

Welcome to our site.

Franc's Éirigh looks good, but wait for more confirmation.

As Franc pointed out, Éirigh if used if you are telling one person to rise, and Éirigí if you are addressing more than one person. But you should also consider Éirímis for "us" (let us rise).

Oh brilliant! Thankyou everyone for that. :D Out of curiousity, what would the form be if it was 'Let me Rise'?

Also franc 91, you've got my humble company at least :P
