Just got 58% (Level 4 - Upper Intermediate) in the http://www.ranganna.com/tastail.aspx?id=1&lang=en test.

Im very happy though i recognise its only reading and understanding ability thats being tested, no way would my speaking would be level 4! A lot of those questions i wouldnt be able to fire off the top of my head in a conversation.

Anyone else done it, whats your results?

Very excited, 4th time ive done the test, June 2010: 16% (level 2 - elementary), Oct 2010: 35% (level 3 - lower intermediate), march 2011: 54% (level 4 - higher intermediate) and then today 58%, only 2% away from advanced! Interestingly between the first 3 tests i was using Ó Siadhail ehich is why i think my test results went up so much from learning reading and writing, whereas ive only gone up 4% in this test in 8 months and i think this reflects ive been using Turas Teanga since then and my speaking has improved so much - which isnt reflected in these tests, but my focus on reading, writing and grammar has tailed off some.

Anyway just thought id share, its nice to see your self making tangile progress!

A tip: don’t accidentally hit reply or try to go back to a previous page or anything like that. Some overzealous coder has made it so that doing so will automatically submit the entire test for you, and you’ll end up having to close the entire tab/window to try again.

First score was therefore a staggering 8%!

Trying a second time now … Second try, 98%. (Actually, only 96%, but two of the wrong answers were just my eyes missing the lack of a lenition and not looking through all the options properly …)

It gave me a wrong for one of the answers, though, where you can easily argue that two of the options are equally correct. Quadruple genitives, wouldn’t you know it. Stiúrthóir Ionad T(h)eangacha Dúchasacha Alasca can be right both with and without the lenition, depending on whether we’re talking about the director of the Alaska Centre for Native Languages or the director of the Centre for Native Alaska(n) Languages. It only wanted one of them to be correct, though. (Can’t remember which one, closed the tab now)

I think I got 85% last time I did it, I'll give it another shot now.

89% an t-am seo. I hate the feckin' hyphenated ones! It's a tricksy test.

83% last time (October 2010) => 87% this time. Was afraid I would go backwards. Must be learning something at least. Is mise an toirtís ...
