Hello all,
I joined this forum today to ask for a translation/grammar/pronunciation of a phrase that I intend to use for the rest of my life. I currently do not speak any Irish; my plan is to learn it once I have finished my college education.
The phrase in english is along the lines of "God be with the Hennessy bloodline" or "May God bless the Hennessy bloodline"
I would very much appreciate all of your help,
John S. Hennessy II
One possibility:
Beannacht Dé ar an gcineál Ó hAonghusaThe blessing of God on the O'Hennessy line
Do wait for further comments/corrections, though. I have a suspicion that the family name should be in the genitive case, but I'll let wiser people comment on that. In case you weren't aware of it, the surname
Ó hAonghusa (the Irish form of the name Hennessy) means "descendant of Angus".
