I hope it's okay I started a new thread for this after touching on it in another.

I need an insult for a woman (a fictional woman--I'm not using this on someone in real life :) ). Somewhere (probably not here), I got "dearg-bhitse" which was corrected to "dearg-bhitseach" in that other thread. My dictionary says bitse is a variant of bitseach. I need to know which is more common in Conamara, or if either are common at all.

It need not be vocative--this is being said about a woman, not to her.

Can anyone confirm either of these will work, or maybe suggest something that might be better? (Bríd??) This needs to be a real nasty insult. But short and sharp. I love the sound of dearg-bhitse. It's perfect if it works. :)

Bitseach is "standard". Bitse (or even just bits) is more common in Conamara.

Dearg-bhitse "red (= utter) bitch" is perfectly okay.

Other options:

Glan-bhitse "clean/pure (= 100%) bitch"
Dubh-bhitse "black (= evil/intense/downright) bitch
Rí-dhubh-bhitse "ultra-black (extreme downright) bitch"
Dubh-dheargbhitse "black-red bitch" (downright utter) bitch"

(Source: The Irish of Iorras Aithneach County Galway, Brian Ó Curnáin, Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies 2007 - translations added by me)

Take your pick ...

Another insult (one Tadhg on Ros na Rún is fond of) is "striapach": "whore."

I think he did so previously here:

viewtopic.php?f=28&t=1569&p=13645

Of course, there is also the possibility that the list may have grown since then. ;)

Yes, that's the list. I thought I had posted it, but couldn't find it.
